"Lets go to Wet and Wild" (For those who don't know another hour and 15min drive North and over the border into QLD).
"Ummm..... NO. Today is a lazy day. Today we rest after our long trip, maybe learn the lay of the local land and seek out food supplies"
This was met with a bit of grumbling by one and a "yeah ok sounds like a plan" from Lounge boy who snuggled a little further under his blanket. He did emerge and eat breakfast then back he went.
The man had other plans however so while most of mine worked out, the rest part did not really happen. The boys decided to stay indoors for a bit and we went walking. We discovered the path/shortcut that takes us through to the beach behind. This avoids the whole walking down the main street and shops and squeezing through the crowds. To get to the so called short cut you go down the street in the opposite direction, round the corner, walk for one block and turn again after a bit you come to the end of the houses and some bush. A bit of a hike through and wallah, we are at the beach.
Now I did not cart my camera as the plan was a walk but I did snap some pictures with SB's phone. Is it not lovely?
Do you see the furthest point on the right? That would be where we started. We wandered all the way up and around the beach, crossed the break wall and kept on going. It did not feel so long on the way, indeed I did not notice how far it was until we climbed up the point and looked back. Oh well, no rush after all.
We took our time and admired the view. Soaked up the sunshine, which, may I add was just divine! Watched the surfers for a while.
Checked out the other side, Wategos beach is just around that bend.
And since he was still checking out the surf, must learn where all the currents run etc etc....I checked out him instead. ;-)
Yes I still do that after 30 years of doing so.
Once we had rested enough we headed back the other way. We had been gone for over two hours and wondered what the kids were up to. It rained a bit as we were walking back but it was a nice kind of rain, the rain on a warm day that makes you smile. I really enjoyed the walk but of course my legs gave me a bit of grief.
We did not really rest. We shopped for food and we walked again. Resting came later when the rain really hit and it was dark.
Zak spent his morning recording himself playing Ukulele, would share but he internet here is not up to uploading videos. So maybe when we get home. He then spent a long time in the pool. I had to insist he get out and come with us to the shops as he was holding his breath and seeing how far he could swim. Two laps of the pool when he announced to me what he was doing so yeah, no unsupervised playing that game. They had some gaming wars in the late afternoon, we bought the playstation along since they don't have their computers. Something to do inside. Zak has his skateboard and scooter but A has no interest in such things so he needed something to do.
I spent a little time crocheting and a little time cross stitching. That would be my rest time.
Now its time for coffee. Have a great day everyone. Hugs xoxox
